- The USA is rich in natural wonders. They are the Grand
Canyon, Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite Valley and the Niagara Falls.
- The Grand Canyon is indeed a very big hole in the
ground. It is the result of constant erosion by the Colorado River over
millions of years. The Grand Canyon became a national park in 1919.Many people
consider it to be one of the seven wonders of the natural world.
- Yellowstone was the first national park in the USA and
is also widely held to be the first national park in the world. It is known for
its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful geyser.
Yellowstone is named after the Yellowstone River, the major river running
through it. The Yellowstone Caldera is known as a ‘supervolcano’.
- Yosemite Valley is a glacial valley carved out of
granite. The glacial valley plus the elevation of the Sierra Nevada also means
there are tons of waterfalls, and really big ones.
- The Niagara Falls is the tallest waterfall at 57
meters tall and 52 meters deep. It is thought to be the world’s fastest-moving
waterfall. About 28 million liters of water travel down the Niagara Falls every
second.
- We have to mention the most interesting places of the
USA, too, such as the National Mall, Hearst Castle, the Empire State Building,
the Gateway Arch, the Parthenon, Cedar Point Park and the Statue of Liberty.
- The National Mall is an open park in downtown
Washington, D.C. It is located between the United States Capitol and the
Washington Monument, which are about 1.6 kilometers apart. The National Mall
contains and borders a number of museums, art galleries, cultural institutions
and various memorials, sculptures and statues.
- Hearst Castle is a National Historic Landmark which
located on the Central Coast of California in the United States. It was built
between 1919 and 1947, as the residence for newspaper magnate William Randolph
Hearst, who died in 1951. In 1954 it became a California State Park. It is an
amazing place, and the views are wonderful.
- The Empire State Building was built in record time
during the great depression and it was the highest building in the world for a
short time. Since its construction, the Empire State Building has symbolized
the technological prowess and economic strength of the USA.
- The Gateway Arch is the world’s tallest arch and the
tallest stainless steel monument in the world. It’s often called ‘the gateway
to the west’.
- The Parthenon is the centerpiece of Centennial Park.
The Parthenon galleries display a collection of 63 Impressionist oils on canvas
paintings dating from 1765 to 1923 produced by variety of American artists.
There are also numerous plaster reproductions of ancient sculptures and other
marbles.
- Cedar Point Park is owned and operated by Cedar Fair
and is considered the flagship of the amusement park chain. Known as “America’s
Roller Coast”, the park features a world-record 72 rides, including 17 roller
coasters - the second-most in the world behind Six Flags Magic Mountain.
- The Statue of Liberty was given to the USA by France
to celebrate America’s first 100 years as a nation. You can explore the museum
inside the statue. Visitors have to climb 354 stairs to reach the crown.
